Thanks to activision, you must update punkbuster manually to play on servers with pb enabled, some of our servers have pb enabled. Hi all,It seems whenever I kill anyone on CoD4 Multiplayer in a server that uses punk buster, I am kicked and the reason is PB Init failure. I was looking around for a solution the other day. If you have windows 10 and you can't play the game due to that punkbuster is not starting.
1 Check if you have your punkbuster updated to the lastest version

2 Check if the punkbuster is running in your task manager and or check your windows service ( start run 'services.mce' and look for PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB ) and start it manual.
3 if you dont have the PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB setup in your windows services.
1 Click Start and type CMD in the Start search box
2 Right click on CMD in the list and right click on 'Run as administrator'
3 Type the following command: net user administrator /active:yes
4 Type the following command:
( for windows 64bit )
sc create PnkBstrB binpath= C:WindowsSysWOW64PnkBstrB.exe start= auto
sc create PnkBstrA binpath= C:WindowsSysWOW64PnkBstrA.exe start= auto
( for windows 32bit )
sc create PnkBstrB binpath= C:Windowssystem32PnkBstrB.exe start= auto
sc create PnkBstrA binpath= C:Windowssystem32PnkBstrA.exe start= auto
Finally check you windows services whether the service has been created and started.

Why does EA treat there customers like garbage? Why should we have to goto the forums to find a hack like this to get the game to work on a major OS?

I have Call of Duty and CoD: United Offensive, and I'm finding that on some servers in CoD, and all servers (that i've played on, which isn't many coz they're hard to find), I get kicked for not having the right punkbuster version (auto updates do not work). A few times I gotten this message:
PB server requires A1347 C1.203 - error loading pbag
OptusNet gives me this message
Server running old version C1.193
in any case, it them spits out crap about how it can't resolve evenbalance.com to automarically update and I get kicked.
I went to punkbuster.com/evenbalace.com and manually downloaded and installed all the files. I first tried placing them into Applications/Call of Duty/PB, and then tried placing them into Home/Library/Applcation Suppoer/Call of Duty/PB. But it didn't help.
I also tried their self-updating thingy that you run from within the PB folder and it is supposed to do its thing, but I got an error message with that:
** ERROR: Unknown game referenced in PB data file
I'm at a loss. Is there anyone out there still plaing CoD that has resolved these issues?
